November 23, 2015 - Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL)
Danbury Titans News Release
The first full home weekend for the Danbury Titans was successful as they came away with six out of a possible six points.
Saturday night saw the Berlin RiverDrivers come in. Both teams had most recently played on November 15 up in Berlin where the Titans were victorious. This weekend was more of the same as Danbury rolled to a 6-2 victory. Five Titans had multi-point performances including Zach Tatrn who had two goals. Nick Niedert provided 16 saves to seal the victory.
Sunday was similar with the Brewster Bulldogs. The Titans came out with a purpose and never looked back. Tyler Gjurich led the way with a hat trick and two assists. Mike Driscoll had a goal, assist, and fight to register a Gordie Howe hat trick as well. Six different Titans provided the goals.
"We went into this weekend looking for six points and were successful", commented Head Coach Phil Esposito. "I can't say enough about how the players approached these home games. They were all business in their preparation and performance. With the long road trip coming up it was important to get these two home wins as it gives us some momentum".
The Titans are back in action Wednesday when they visit the RiverDrivers in Berlin. After that they will head to Port Huron to face the Prowlers on Friday before heading to Danville for two games against the first place Dashers. Danbury will return home the following weekend to play the Prowlers and the Dashers.
