March 14, 2022 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Maine Nordiques News Release

The Nordiques got a point last night in a 4-3 OT loss but were looking for two tonight in a win.

The first period got started with both teams looking to get their offense going but goaltenders would prevail until the Nords went to the penalty kill which they were able to kill off. Just moments later they would head to a power play and convert on a Iggy Belov tip on a Nick Bernardo shot to give them a 1-0 lead. Just three minutes later the Nords would dump the puck down the ice and Titans goalie Andrew Tackus came out of his net to play it, but Brendan Gibbons would force a turnover and find Resse Farrell in the slot who blasted a one timer home to make it 2-0 Nords after the first.

The second period started with two straight titans goals to tie it up at two. Filip Wiberg would stop the Titans right there as he would score his sixth of the season to make it 3-2. Aidan Connolly would then get a breakaway feed from Zion Green to make it 4-2. On the next face-off the Titans won it back to their goaltender who gave it right to Gibbons who found Wiberg who put one home to give them a 5-2 lead. The Titans would score late in the 2nd and it was 5-3 Nords after two periods.

The Nords got a five minute power play to begin the third but couldn't convert. They would however convert on their next man advantage as Iggy Belov found the back of the net for his second of the game. The Titans would then get a power play goal and two more with four minutes to go in the third to force overtime for the second straight night.

In overtime, Gus Holt made four game saving stops but the Nords couldn't get an offensive opportunity and would concede a goal to the titans with less than a minute and thirty seconds left to go in overtime.

The Nordiques reset for a three game weekend at home with the Northeast Generals next weekend.
