NEW YORK - The New York Titans opened the second quarter with a five-goal run that proved to be the difference in a 14-10 victory over the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday night.
Mike McLellan scored two of his team-leading four goals during the run, helping the Titans build a 9-4 halftime lead before a crowd of 6,337 at Madison Square Garden.
The Mammoth, which has already clinched a playoff spot in the National Lacrosse League's West Division, fell to 7-6. The Titans improved to 7-6 and helped their playoff chances in the log jammed East Division race.
