Danbury Titans News Release
The Danbury Titans had two games at home this weekend, hosting the Danville Dashers and Port Huron Prowlers. It was the first trip to Danbury for both teams this year.
On Friday night it was all Titans as they controlled play from start to finish. Tyler Gjurich had another big game with three goals on eight shots. It was his third hat trick of the season. Zach Tatrn and Phil Bronner tallied the other two goals. Alex Vazzano shut the door stopping all 20 shots that came his way for his first professional shutout. The win propelled the Titans into first place and was the Titans' third consecutive win over Danville.
Saturday night featured the Port Huron Prowlers who had defeated the Titans the Friday before in Port Huron. Unlike Friday, the Titans were stuck playing from behind the entire game. Mike Driscoll, John Scorcia, Dave Mead, and Steve Brown all had multi-point games for the Titans. Gjurich's late goal in the third period got the Titans within one but Danbury could not complete the comeback.
The Titans currently sit in first place in the Federal Hockey League with a three game set coming up against the Brewster Bulldogs. Thursday and Saturday will be at the Danbury Ice Arena at 7:35 PM while Friday's game will be in Brewster at 7:35 PM. For tickets and information visit www.danburytitans.com or call 844-DTHOCKEY.
