Albany, NY - ASM Global managed Times Union Center announced they have plans to open their doors to fans for the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Regional, March 27-28, 2021. Capacity of the arena will be at 10% which means tickets will be limited.
"We are so excited to be opening our doors to fans and thrilled that it is for a prestigious event like NCAA Regional Hockey," said Times Union Center General Manager Bob Belber. "We are working very closely with the New York State Department of Health to make sure that all guidelines are being followed regarding social distancing, testing, and patron safety. We have been working hard to get the building ready and look forward to opening our doors."
Tickets will be priced at $50 for an all-session pass and will go on-sale Monday, March 8th at 10 a.m. ET. All tickets will be sold in 2 person pods, and all pods will be a minimum of 9ft apart to abide by NYS guidelines. In addition to a ticket, all fans will be required to provide a negative PCR COVID-19 Test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the game. In addition, everyone in attendance will be required to provide information for contact tracing, for all members of their pod at the time of purchase.
"It's been a year since we've been able to enjoy sports at the Times Union Center and I am happy that not only are championship games returning but that fans will be able to watch safely. This is also an economic boost for the many employees who have been out of work because the arena had to be closed during this public health crisis," said Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy.
"Albany has a rich tradition of hosting NCAA men's ice hockey tournament games so we know they will do an outstanding job," said Kristin Fasbender, Director of Championships and Alliances for the NCAA. "The Times Union Center staff is tremendous, and we know they can handle all the challenges that hosting an event in the COVID-19 era presents."
Tickets will be available at www.NCAA.com/FrozenFour. Fans should be prepared to list all contact info for the people sitting in their ticket pod at time of purchase. Tickets will only be available as all session passes.
