Timbers2 to Take Part in MLS NEXT Pro Pick-Your-Opponent Selection Show

After clinching their first-ever Pacific Division title on Sunday, Timbers2 now prepares for the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs.
As the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, fans can watch live as T2 chooses their postseason competitor during the Western Conference Quarterfinals Pick-Your-Opponent Selection Show on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 1pm PT. The show will stream on MLSNEXTPro.com and will feature Timbers2 head coach Jack Cassidy making Portland's selection.
For the first two rounds of the Playoffs, the Conference Quarterfinals and Semifinals, higher seeded teams will select and host their opponents from lower seeds. For the Conference Quarterfinal selections on Sept. 23, No. 1 - No. 3 seeds will choose from No. 5 - No. 8/9, with the winners of the Play-in Round becoming the No. 8 seeds entering the Playoffs. The No. 4 seed in each conference will host the remaining team from No. 5 - No. 8/9.
Portland will host the Conference Quarterfinal game at Providence Park on Oct. 16. Kickoff time is TBD but tickets will be free.
MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs Format
Seven teams from each conference automatically qualify for the postseason (14 total): the two Division Champions plus the next five teams with the most points. The winner of the two Play-in Round matches will assume the No. 8 seed in its conference, rounding out the playoff field at eight teams per conference (16 total).
Following the Play-in Round the weekend of Oct. 9, the Playoffs will run four consecutive weeks, culminating with MLS NEXT Pro Cup the weekend of Nov. 6. All matches will air live on OneFootball.com and MLSNEXTPro.com.
