Tie-breaker tonight
September 5, 2006 - International League (IL1)
Toledo Mud Hens News Release
The Mud Hens lost to Columbus on Monday and the Indianapolis Indians won at Louisville. This sets up a tie atop the IL's West Division between the Hens and Indy, forcing a one-game, winner take all, tie-breaking game at Fifth Third Field on Tuesday, September 5th at 7:00 PM. The winner will host the Charlotte Knights in the First Round of the Governors' Cup Playoffs for Games 1 & 2 on Wednesday and Thursday, September 6 & 7. Game times in Toledo would be 7 PM.
The host city of the one-game playoff (Toledo) was determined on the basis of which team had the better record in head-to-head competition at the end of the regular season. The Hens won the season series 10-6, thus the Tuesday night potential tie-breaker would be at Fifth Third Field.
Gates will open at 6:00 PM on Tuesday and tickets are still available (419) 725-HENS.
