After beating the Syracuse Salty Dogs 3-1 on aggregate goals, the Montreal Impact's final step toward a championship will take place this Saturday night, September 18, at 7 p.m. at the Claude Robillard Sports Complex. Montreal will face the Seattle Sounders in the 2004 A-League Championship, a single elimination game.
The Sounders finished the regular season in fourth place of the Western Conference standings with a 13-11-4 overall record and a 6-7-1 away record. They first beat the regular season champions Portland Timbers in the conference semi-finals and second-place Vancouver Whitecaps in the conference final to advance to the final.
