TORONTO (AP) — The Los Angeles Avengers took advantage of three second-half turnovers by the Toronto Phantoms in a 58-44 Arena Football League victory Thursday night.

The Phantoms led 27-24 at halftime after a perfect second quarter by quarterback PAT O'HARA, who went 7-for-7 for 132 yards and three touchdowns, including scoring passes of 40 yards to CHARLIE DAVIDSON and 43 yards to TY LAW.

Los Angeles (7-4) trailed 34-30 when O'Hara fumbled a snap in the end zone and the Avengers recovered to take the lead. Toronto (5-6) managed to tie the game 37-37 at the start of the fourth quarter, but Avengers quarterback TONY GRAZIANI connected with KEVIN INGRAM on the touchdown pass that gave Los Angeles the lead for good.

The Phantoms then misplayed a kickoff that Los Angeles recovered in the end zone for a 51-37 lead. After Toronto closed within 51-44, Ingram picked off a pass by O'Hara and returned it 50 yards for the final touchdown.

The loss was the third straight at the Air Canada Centre for the Phantoms.
