Thunder to Open Training Camp on Monday

May 15, 2009 - ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder will open training camp on Monday, May 18 with an 11 a.m. practice according to team general manager Aaron M. Moore.
The Thunder, who looks to improve on a disappointing 2008 season, will be short several players for at least the first week of practice due to college commitments. Three players, all of whom are Team USA training camp invites, are still playing in the playoffs and several others are coaches at various universities. This will also mark the first training camp in team history that will not include Lindsay Gardner and Kristen Zaleski.
TRAINING CAMP SCHEDULE 5/18/09 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 5/19/09 - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 5/20/09 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 5/21/09 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 5/22/09 - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 5/23/09 - Exhibition and clinic at Prairie du Chien, Wis. - 5:30 p.m.
5/24/09 - OFF DAY 5/25/09 - 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. 5/26/09 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 5/27/09 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 5/28/09 - OFF Day (season ticket holder party night) - 2nd Cousins - 6 p.m. 5/29/09 - Exhibition game vs. Chicago Bandits at Madison, Wis. - 7:30 p.m. 5/30/09 - FanFest and "Celebrity" Slow Pitch Game - 4 to 8 p.m. - Includes appearance by Israel Idonije of the Chicago Bears and Larry English of the San Diego Padres 5/31/09 - Exhibition game vs. Chicago Bandits at Thunder Park - 3 p.m. - Rockford Peaches Uniforms
All practices are scheduled to take place at Thunder Park at Roscoe and are free and open to the public. Practice times and location are subject to change without advanced notice. All credentialed media are also invited to attend the practices and it is recommended that individual interviews be scheduled with the Thunder office.
