Thunder to Host Slow Pitch Softball Game

ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder and local celebrities get set to do battle against each other this Saturday, May 30 in a slow pitch softball game at Thunder Park in Roscoe, IL.

The Rockford Thunder players, including two time Olympic pitcher, Cat Osterman will be taking on local media and sports celebrities in a slow pitch softball game as part of their fan fest weekend at Thunder Park (5444 Swanson Road, Roscoe, IL). Stone and Double T from WXRX will be part of the media contingent participating in this Satursay's game. And several players from the Rock River Raptors will also participate, including local favorite, Brandon Wogomon.

Making a special appearance this Saturday will be Israel Idonije of the Chicago Bears and Larry English. Idonije, a 6'6 300 lb. defensive tackle and English, a first round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers out of NIU, will participate in the game as well as sign autographs for those in attendance.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. There is a $5 admission.

On Sunday, the Thunder will play an exhibition game against the Chicago Bandits. The Thunder will be playing in replica Rockford Peaches uniforms and will have a live auction at the end of the game to auction off all uniforms. Gates open at 2 p.m. with the first pitch set for 3:05 p.m. Admission for the game is $10.
