Thunder to Host Celebrity Softball Game

*May 27, 2009* - *ROCKFORD* – The Rockford Thunder announced today a group of local celebrities that will take on the Thunder in a Celebrity Slow Pitch Softball game on Saturday, May 30 at Thunder Park at Roscoe.
Thunder players, including two-time Olympic pitcher, Cat Osterman will be taking on local media and sports celebrities the game as part of its fan fest weekend at Thunder Park at Roscoe (5444 Swanson Road, Roscoe, Ill.).
Stone and Double T from WXRX (104.9) will be part of the media contingent participating in the game, while several players from the Rock River Raptors will also participate, including local favorite, Brandon Wogomon. Oak Hewer from the IceHogs has also committed for the game.
Making a special appearance will be Israel Idonije of the Chicago Bears and Larry English. Idonije, a 6’6”, 300 lb. defensive tackle and English, a first round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers out of Northern Illinois University, will participate in the game as well as sign autographs for those in attendance.

In addition to the game events, the Thunder will have several silent auction items available, including a Ryan Theriot autographed baseball, Ryan Theriot autographed jersey, Bears banner, Jim McMahon mini-helmet, Devin Hester 8x10 photo, four tickets to the Beloit Riverfest, autographed Thunder helmet and more.
Gates open at 5 p.m. for the softball game with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. There is a $5 admission. All fans that wear either a Chicago Bears, Rock River Raptors or Rockford IceHogs jersey will receive buy one, get one free admission.
