Thunder, SunBirds forced to cancel final two games of weekend series

Rockford Thunder News Release

Mother Nature won out in the end. We tried hard last night to get game 2 in and then starting early this morning we had a large crew at the fields very, very early, but all to no avail. Unfortunately for us and our great fans we had to make a decision to cancel the final two games of the 3-game series against the California Sunbirds.

We greatly appreciate the many special fans that made it to the stadium and hope they all understand our shared disappointment in the outcome. If you are a ticket holder to one of these two games (Game Ticket # 17 or 18) we will be glad to honor your ticket to any game of your choice. Please call Kim Ryan to reserve your next game (281-265-8277)

Currently our plans are to try and makeup these lost two games at the end of the season when California is expected to return here for the last series of the season on August 16th through 18th.

Be sure to catch the action of our seven Texas Thunder Western All-Stars (Christa Williams, Lindsay Gardner, Peaches James, Clare Burnum, Erin Evans, Ryan Realmuto, Kristen Zaleski) on the net next Tuesday and Wednesday. The Eastern All-Stars take on Team USA at 5:05pm CST and your Western All-Stars take on Team USA at 7:35pm CST. The following day East and West All-Stars face off against each other at 7:05pm CST. Fans can listen to the games by visiting the NPF site at Pro Sports Radio (www.npf.prosportsradio.com) and clicking on the All-Star Game logo. The logo will take fans directly to the broadcast.

Our next home stand starts Monday, July 19th, when the New England Riptide come to town for a 3-game series through Wednesday, July 21st.
