Frisco Thunder News Release

FRISCO, Tex. (June 19, 2008) -- The Frisco Thunder's final open weekend this Saturday, June 21 sees the players and mascot making three appearances in the Collin County area.

Three players, including Intense Football League All-Star candidate LaMont Finley, will serve as coaches for The Frisco Family YMCA's Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick competition for children ages 8 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The event will allow one male and female winner from each of the four age groups to move on to participate in the sectional competition in October.

From there, divisional winners have the opportunity to compete in the NFL team championship and the national finals. The Thunder players will be joined by former Dallas Cowboys special teams coach Joe Avezzano.

After that, Crash The ThunderCat will appear at The Colony Chamber's Family Fun Afternoon at the Tribute Lakeside Golf & Resort Community from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. 2-4pm. This event part of the Chamber's 20th Annual Golf Classic to benefit Habitat For Humanity. Crash and other area sport team mascots will available at the Ashton Woods Model Home Center, 3224 Stonefield.

Finally, Papa Murphy's Pizza at 12398 FM 423, Suite 1500 will host a Thunder Appreciation Party featuring players and dancers beginning at 1 p.m. Fans are invited to free samples from the area's newest pizza parlor.
