Mahoning Valley Thunder News Release

BOARDMAN, Ohio- The Mahoning Valley Thunder is pleased to announce that the arenafootball2 League Office has assigned Bryceson Lawrence to the 2008 Thunder roster. Lawrence (5'8, 190) a Defensive Back will be in his first season with the af2.

A Marion, OH native, Lawrence spent his collegiate career at Tiffin University (Tiffin, OH). In four seasons with the Dragons, Bryceson recorded over 100 tackles in each of two seasons and was named to the All-Independent Team three years in a row.

From 2004-2006 Lawrence recorded nine interceptions, 25 pass break-ups and six forced fumbles. In his senior season, Bryceson was a key member of a defense that held opponents to just 14 points and a paltry 74 rushing yards per contest. Lawrence becomes the second player assigned to the '08 Thunder roster who participated in the team's open tryout January 5th.

"Bryceson had the reputation of always being around the ball in college. He has excellent sideline- to- sideline speed and has above average hands for a defensive back. We're hopeful he can help our secondary create more turnovers." Thunder Head Coach Mike Hold said.

The Mahoning Valley Thunder opens the season at home Saturday March 29th on Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre. Be a part of all the action in 2008 as the Thunder continues their climb towards the ArenaCup9 Championship. Season ticket prices start as low as $96 and are on sale now. For more information call the Thunder Offices at 330.758.4af2 (4232).
