
Thunder, Rock Cats suspended in 9th inning

(Trenton, NJ)- The game between the Trenton Thunder and the New Britain Rock Cats has play suspended due to rain in the 9th Inning with the game tied at 1-1. The game will be completed prior to Sunday's regularly scheduled game at 1:05 PM.
The Thunder (21-10) took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd Inning as CF Matt Carson doubled off Rock Cats starter Jesse Floyd to start the inning. He later scored on a sacrifice fly by 3B Juan Francia. But was the only run that the Thunder got off Floyd in seven innings. Floyd scattered six hits with two walks and six strikeouts.
New Britain (16-12) tied the game in the 5th Inning against Trenton starter Alan Horne. After a single and a walk, the Rock Cats pulled off a double steal. The throw by Thunder C P.J. Pilittere went into left field, allowing Matt Allegra to score. Horne worked six innings and allowed one unearned run on four hits. He walked one and struck out eight.
Trenton and New Britain wrap up their series on Sunday at 1:05 PM. Jason Jones (2-1, 3.86) starts for the Thunder against the Rock Cats' Tristan Crawford (3-1, 6.43).
