Thunder Names New Assistant Coach

ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder announced today that they have named Mike Steuerwald as the team's new assistant coach to Manager Jim Sherwood. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Steuerwald, 26, lives in Rockford and is an assistant baseball coach at Rockford College. In addition to his duties at Rockford College, he has also been as assistant basketball coach at Boylan Catholic High School for the last two seasons. He has served in several other coaching capacities, including being as assistant softball coach at Watertown and Waterloo in Wisconsin.

"I am excited to get the opportunity to join a great organization," stated Steuerwald. I look forward to working with GM Aaron Moore, Coach Sherwood, and the Thunder players in continuing to build a strong team not only on the field, but in the community as well."
