Thunder Dancers Chill -- Literally -- At Swimsuit Shoot

Frisco Thunder News Release

FRISCO, Tex. (February 8, 2007) - All the old football clichés - "toughing it out" and "take one for the team" and "being a team player" - also apply to swimsuit calendar shoots. Especially when the photo session is held in January and the term"wind chill factor" comes into play.

Braving near-freezing temperatures and a few other challenges, members

of the Frisco Thunder dance team recently assembled on the pool decks of

Stonebriar Country Club and Cypress Lake to work on their first swimsuit calendar.

With Thunder players, coaches and front office staff conveniently dispatched to a Habitat For Humanity house building project miles away in Plano, photographers Tim Leslie and Brandon Gardner worked their magic while the girls worked theirs ... and worked to stay warm.

"When it's freezing like that, you bite your tongue and smile,'' said Jillian Cox, a second-year member of the dance team. "Despite the cold, it was a great experience. I've never done anything like that before."

Cox' teammate Addison Reed had previously modeling experience, including some in adverse conditions. She felt overcoming the cold will help foster more unity in an already cohesive dance squad.

"I'm pretty tough, but when you get up at 9 a.m. in the freezing cold, you find out who your friends are quick," Reed said. "Doing a shoot like this make you feel glamorous."

That's what Dance Team Director Debra Swaim wanted from the experience.

"We wanted to showcase our dance team and how they complement the football players' roughness and grittiness," Swaim said. "The dancers are beautiful and professional and it shows in the pictures taken."

"I couldn't be more prouder," Swain added. "All the girls who participated were really team players in the cold weather."

The calendar will be available in March. For a sneak peek, visit www.friscothunderifl.com
