BOARDMAN, Ohio- The Mahoning Valley Thunder in conjunction with the arenafootball2 League Office is pleased to announce that Jamie Goodwin has been assigned to the 2008 team roster. WR Goodwin (5-10, 180) enters his first season in af2.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Goodwin joins Mahoning Valley after a college career that began at the University of Akron and ended at Northern Iowa where Jamie was a member of the 2005 Gateway Conference Co-Champions. In three years as an Akron Zip, Goodwin totaled 14 receptions for 211 yards and a score. Goodwin also amassed over 1,000 kick return yards with one touchdown as a Zip.
Goodwin finished his career as a Northern Iowa Panther. In one season at NIU Goodwin snagged 27 catches for 576 yards and 4 touchdowns. Goodwin totaled another 661 yards on 30 kick returns as part of a Panthers team that finished as the 2005 I-AA National Championship Runner-Up. Following the 2005 season, Jamie signed with the NFL's Indianapolis Colts as an un-drafted free agent. He was released just prior to the start of the 2006 season.
