Thunder Announces Plan to Host Youth Tournament in July

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford Thunder of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) and General Manager Aaron M. Moore, announced today they would host a youth fastpitch tournament, July 13-15 at Sportscore One.
The tournament will serve as an ASA North National Qualifier, giving several teams one final chance to compete before heading off to state and national tournaments.
The field will be opened up to teams in the 12-U, 14-U and 16-U divisions, and both "A" and "B" teams are encouraged to register.
Tournament entries are $350 per team and each registration guarantees the team four games, umpire fees and 15 group tickets to the Thunder game on Saturday, July 14. Teams will also have the opportunity to participate in an opening ceremony on Friday, July 13 prior to the Thunder game.
In addition to the tournament, the Thunder staff and players will offer a 3-hour clinic to all the youth in the event. The clinic will be offered to all youth, but it will be offered at a discounted rate to all playing in the tournament.
"This tournament is a great example of what we're trying to do in the community," said Moore. "One of the biggest goals of Lowe Entertainment is to make an impact in the youth of the area."
