Thunder announce exhibition game in Madison area

April 28, 2009 - ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder announced today that they will play an exhibition game against the NPF World Champion Chicago Bandits on Friday, May 29 at the Hitters SportsPlex (3170 Deming Way) in Middleton, Wis.

The festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with a clinic for youth ages 8-18 years of age and will be followed by the game at 7:30 p.m.

Individual tickets for the game are $8/each and fans are encouraged to arrive early for a bleacher seat. Fans will also be permitted to bring in their own lawn chairs for festival style seating. The clinic will cost individuals $40/each and will include a ticket to the game. The clinic will be run by the entire Thunder team.

"We're extremely excited for the opportunity to go to the Madison area to play," stated team GM Aaron M. Moore. "This is a great opportunity for us to play in a new area and hopefully attract some new fans to the Thunder. I believe it's a definitely win-win for everyone involved."

Players scheduled to appear from the Thunder include recent acquisitions Chelsea Spencer and Lyndsey Angus, both All-NPF players. Other players, such as Olympic Gold Medalist Cat Osterman and NCAA Player of the Year Candidates Jenae Leles and Ashley Charters, will be in attendance as well if their college season ends short of the Women's College World Series.

Chicago's roster includes Team USA members Jennie Finch and Vicky Galindo, as well as Team Canada member Caitlin Lever.
