Here are three key points ahead of tonight's game:
1. MID-SEASON PUSH - The Dash are undefeated on the road 11 games into the regular season under head coach James Clarkson, who has led the team to the best start of the regular season in club history. As the season inches closer to playoffs, Houston will look to rack up as many points as they need to make the playoffs for the first time in club history.
DASH PLAYERS BACK FROM FRANCE - As the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup wraps up, six Dash players that took part in the Cup in France return to Houston to help the Dash in the mid-season playoff push. Canadian players Lindsay Agnew, Allysha Chapman, Nichelle Prince and Sophie Schmidt lost in the round of 16 against Sweden, while Clare Polkingorne and Australia fell to Norway on penalties after securing a spot after the group stage. Rachel Daly and England fell to the United States on July 2nd at Parc Olympique Lyonnais, 2-1. Daly is the only Dash player who is still in France as the Lionesses play Sweden for the third spot of the tournament at 11 a.m. on July 6 at Stade de Nice.
TAKING ON THE REIGNING CHAMPIONS - Houston will look to earn the club's first victory against North Carolina as they trail the Courage in their all-time series, 0-5-1. Last season, the Dash got their first point against the 2018 NWSL Champions in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw on June 3, 2018 at BBVA Stadium. This season, Houston fell to the North Carolina on April 28 in a 4-1 game where Daly scored her first goal of the season to put the Dash on the scoreboard.
