Three Players Returning to Swashbucklers

LAKE CHARLES LA. - The Louisiana Swashbucklers have signed veteran players Fred Abraham, B.J. Thomas & Jordan Rideaux for the 2012 season.

Fred Abraham is a wide receiver and return specialist and adds depth at receiver after a breakout rookie year in 2011. A native of Jennings, he had seven receptions for 53 yards and one touchdown. He averaged five yards a carry in 2011 and he returned the ball on kickoffs seven times for a total of 153 yards including a 34 yard touchdown return.

Jordan Rideaux, another capable wide receiver, had 444 all purpose yards in 2011 with 24 receptions for 235 yards and two touchdowns. Rideaux returned 12 kicks for 206 yards.

Brandon (B.J.) Thomas is a defensive back and a native of Opelousas. Thomas is one of the pillars in the Swashbucklers' "monster" defense. Last season he is credited for 21 solo tackles and five assists. He also had five interceptions for 75 yards. In 2011 he was the team leader in interceptions.

The Swashbucklers start the 2012 season on Saturday, March 17, against the Alabama Hammers with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. in the Smuggler's Den at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
