Three More Sign With BlueCats

EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats are pleased to announce that three more players have signed contracts to play with the BlueCats in the 2007 season. The trio includes defensive lineman Marvin Campbell, wide receiver Marquis Johnson, and defensive back Jerral Davidson.
Marvin Campbell is a 6' 3" 310 pound defensive tackle from Gary, Indiana. He played collegiately at Mesabi Range Junior College in Minnesota before playing at Harper Junior College in Illinois where he was a member of the 2004-2005 NCJC Championship team. Campbell has previous professional experience with the Dayton Bulldogs and Edmonton Eskimos and recently set the 225-pound bench press record at a tryout for the Columbus Destroyers of the AFL.
Wide Receiver Marquis Johnson was the #19 rated player in the country coming out of high school. Johnson originally committed to play football at Texas before playing at Hutchinson College in Hutchinson, Kansas. After a season at Hutchinson, he was ranked as the #5 JUCO wide receiver prospect before signing with Texas Tech where he played in 2004 and 2005. Johnson checks in at 6' 3" and 225 pounds and is from Champaign, Illinois.
Also from Champaign, Illinois is defensive back Jerral Davidson. Davidson played college football at Aurora University where he started 26 of his 29 career games at cornerback. During his career, he recorded 111 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 24 pass break ups. He led the team in interceptions as a junior and a senior. Davidson earned first team all conference honors as a senior in 2005 and second team all conference honors as a junior in 2004.
Campbell, Johnson, and Davidson were scouted and placed by the coaches and staff of the indoor football scouting bureau.
Season tickets for the Evansville BlueCats 2007 season are on sale. 2007 will be the BlueCats fifth anniversary season of indoor football action at Roberts Stadium.
