Three More Renegades Alumni Sign

Richmond Renegades News Release


The Richmond Renegades today announced the signing of three players from last season's squad. Defensemen CLAY LEWIS and BRET NORRIS along with forward JASON PRICE will be in Richmond when training camp starts October 13th.

LEWIS, a 6' 4" Florida native was injured early after he was acquired by the Renegades but returned to play 22 games. At 230# the 26 y.o. hard hitting defenseman scored one goal and assisted on 2 others while collecting 36 PIM's during the regular season. He played in both Renegades playoff games.

"Clay has a tremendous amount of potential and I'm looking forward to having him back with the team," stated Renegades head coach, Brian Goudie. "He has quite a presence back on the blue line and will help cut down our goals against this season."

NORRIS played in 37 games for the Renegades in his rookie season. Acquired from Jacksonville after appearing in 12 games for the Barracudas, the 26 y.o. defenseman from Colorado scored one goal and had 2 assists during the regular season while sitting 34 minutes in the penalty box. The 5' 11" left shooter played in 2 playoff games and had one assist.

"Bret is another defenseman I am happy to bring back this season," noted Goudie. "He is a stay at home defenseman who sees the ice well and isn't afraid to go into the corners. He's a quick study and I'm looking for continued improvement during his sophomore season."

The 6' 3" PRICE played in 42 games for Columbus prior to being acquired by the Renegades last season. He was only appeared in 3 regular season games due to a hand injury assisting on 2 goals but returned to play in the playoffs. A native of Michigan, the 23 y.o. 185# winger will start his third pro season in October.

"This should be a big year for Jason," proclaimed Goudie. "He ha experience and now that he's healthy that should give him a boost as we enter the season."

Renegades training camp starts Monday, October 13th with the only home pre-season game against Fayetteville on October 18th. The regular season starts at home on Friday, October 24th.
