RIO GRANDE VALLEY EVENTS CENTER ANNOUNCES NAMING RIGHTS PARTNER AND NEW NAME

(HIDALGO, TX --- September 4, 2003) The City of Hidalgo and the Texas Municipal Facilities Corporation announced today at a press conference in Hidalgo, that the Rio Grande Valley Events Center, scheduled to open October 23, 2003 will from this day forward be called DODGE ARENA. The Title Sponsor of the newly named "DODGE ARENA" is the Rio Grande Valley Dodge Dealers, which include; Bert Ogden Motors in Harlingen, Burns Motors in McAllen, Cardenas Motors in Brownsville, Competition Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Raymondville, Ed Payne Motors in Weslaco and Ramirez Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Rio Grande City.

"As members of the community of the Rio Grande Valley, all the local Dodge Dealers find it extremely exciting to be a part of such a great facility, and what it is going to provide to the City of Hidalgo and the Rio Grande Valley," said Jimmy Payne of Ed Payne Motors and President of the South Texas Dodge Dealers Advertising Association.

The $20-million multi-purpose complex, which is currently under construction, will feature a 6,800-seat arena that will configure up to nearly 5,500-seats for ice hockey, soccer, football and rodeos and a center stage concert capacity of 6,800-seats. DODGE ARENA will showcase over 120 events including boxing, theatrical productions, family shows, trade shows and special events (i.e. BorderFest). DODGE ARENA is the home of the Central Hockey League's Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.

"The City of Hidalgo is elated to have the Valley Dodge Dealers playing such a significant role in bringing first class family entertainment to the Rio Grande Valley and Northern Mexico," said Hidalgo Mayor John David Franz. "This commitment by Dodge places them at the forefront of Valley businesses, and exhibits their visionary leadership to partner with a valley community to improve the quality of life for the people of South Texas."

"Dodge has been a major sponsor of the Central Hockey and it's member teams, most recently as the Title Sponsor of the 2003 Central Hockey League All Star Game in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma," said Rick Kozaback, President of Global Marketing, parent company to the CHL. "We are excited to extend our relationship with Dodge as proud sponsor of the City of Hidalgo's new multi-purpose facility."

DODGE ARENA (formerly Rio Grande Valley Events Center) is managed by Global Spectrum, which manages public assembly facilities throughout the United States and Canada. Global Spectrum is a subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm which owns the First Union Center, the First Union Spectrum, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Philadelphia Phantoms, Flyers Skate Zone, Comcast SportsNet, and the Bowie Baysox, the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Frederick Keys, all affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles.
