TULSA, OK - Down by a goal in the third period, the Oilers (6-4-1) stormed back for a 4-3 win over Wichita (8-2-0) on Sunday evening in front of 3,648 at the BOK Center. Tulsa won its second straight game and handed Wichita its second loss of the season.

At the 9:09 mark of the third, Michel Beausoleil fired a shot from right wing that was stopped by Thunder goalie Ryan MacDonald but Oilers rookie David Solway was there to put home the rebound for his second goal of the season. Five minutes later, MacDonald misplayed a puck behind his net and Solway found Gary Steffes all alone in front of the open cage. Steffes' third goal of the weekend and fifth of the season turned out to be the game winner for the Oilers who evened the season series with the Thunder at one game apiece.

Tulsa's powerplay, which had mustered only one goal in its last 29 attempts, finally came to life on Sunday. Sean Erickson's tally with the man advantage tied the game at one midway through the first period and Steffes' game winner also came on the powerplay.

Ryan Cramer put Tulsa on top 2-1 in the first with a perfectly placed one-timer off a feed from Mike Ullrich. Brett Hemingway evened the score for Wichita with just 51 seconds left in the first period and the Thunder got a late second period goal from captain Daniel Tetrault to take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission.

In net, Oilers goalie Ian Keserich stopped 23 shots and picked up his sixth win of the season. With two points, Tulsa moved into sole possession of second place in the Berry Conference, three points behind Wichita.

The Oilers won for the first time this season when giving up the first goal, and now have two third period comebacks in five home games.
