WHO: The Washington Power Men's Professional Indoor Lacrosse Team

WHAT: Last Regular Season Game against the Buffalo Bandits

WHERE: The Capital Centre (formerly the USAir Arena)

WHEN: Saturday, March 23rd, 2002 at 7 pm

DETAILS: The Washington Power are set to play the last regular season home game before going into the NLL Playoffs this coming weekend. This will be the last game that Washington will play in the area before moving on to an undetermined location next year. This will also be the last game that Lacrosse-legend–duo, Gary and Paul Gait will play together. Paul has announced that he will retire from Professional Lacrosse after this season with the NLL after 13 seasons in the league and over 30 years in the sport. This is a game NOT TO BE MISSED! The National Lacrosse League has expanded to include a total of 13 franchise teams, now spanning to both coasts. The schedule has also been extended to include a total of 16 games and is enhanced by the creation of three divisions: The Northern, Eastern and Central Divisions. The Power is part of the Eastern division and is joined by New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia. In addition, the playoff format has expanded from four to six teams. The Power are lead on the field this season by Gary and Paul Gait, two of the greatest players to ever play, as well as local lacrosse stars Josh Sims, Brian Reese and Kip Fulks. On the Bench is Head Coach Darris Kilgour, who returns after leading the Power to the NLL Semi-Finals last year, in his first season as a head coach.
