Harrisburg Stampede News Release

HARRISBURG, PA (March 21, 2012) - The Harrisburg Stampede are doing their best to embrace the local outdoor teams that are so abundant in the Eastern and Central areas of Pennsylvania. The Stampede has already been working with the Chambersburg Cardinals. We felt it would be a good idea to reach out to some other outdoor teams towards the eastern part of the state. So Stampede Owners Justin Coble and Marques Colston along with Head Coach Nowotarski and Lightening Owner Shane Houser all sat down together and discussed the possibilities of working together.

By forming a working relationship with the Lightening, we help to expand our Stampede name a little further to the east and we are able to get a look at another whole set of players and fans. In turn the Lightening players also have a Professional Indoor Team that will be watching their games and players. Working together with the Lightening allows both teams and their organizations the ability to promote football in Eastern Pa and is giving players from all over a chance to show off their talents.

This is certainly a working relationship that is beneficial to both organizations. When either of us bring in a player that can possibly make both squads and get maximum exposure and film, the player has a better chance of marketing himself to the upper levels of play. Marcus Zimmerman would be a prime example. The former Bloomsburg Huskie is signed with the Stampede and plays for the Lightening in the summer. He now is getting double the exposure and playing experience for possible upward moves in his career.

We look forward to watching the Lightening players and seeing them in our camps and work-outs. We are also excited to reach out to the football fans in the Lancaster area to come and be a part of the Stampede experience as well. It's all about giving as many local kids a chance to continue to play football at the highest level.
