VAL-D'OR - Six Montreal Impact players, accompanied by goalkeeper coach Youssef Dahha and the club's executive vice president Richard Legendre, are visiting Val-d'Or from October 23 to the 25 to hold soccer clinics and meet with local soccer fans.

"We are the team of Quebec and today, we once again move from words to action," declared Richard Legendre. "Soccer is popular throughout Quebec even outside the summer period, and we are thrilled to be able to give back to our fans a bit of what they give us. This is why we are proud to be able to present them the cup on this occasion."

The Impact delegation was greeted Friday at the City Hall of Val-d'Or by Mayor Fernand Trahan to sign the city's Golden Book.

"We are very proud and feel privileged to receive Montreal Impact players in our city," declared Mr. Fernand Trahan. "Their visit will be an inspiring and unforgettable moment, not only for the young players, but also for the entire population of Val-d'Or."

Throughout the weekend, team captain Mauro Biello, defenders Adam Braz, Cédric Joqueviel and Alex Surprenant, as well as midfielders Rocco Placentino and Félix Brillant, will offer soccer workshops to more than 250 youth.

"For us, it's a very special occasion to meet the fans who are outside of Montreal," mentioned team captain and manager of the Impact Soccer Schools Mauro Biello. "The youth here do not get the chance to come often to our matches, so they follow the games on television and on the web. Offering them the opportunity to train under our supervision is extraordinary for them."

In addition to holding soccer workshops, Impact players will take part in various community related activities, including a visit to an underground mine and a supper with more than a hundred fans.
