Pennant Races: Lancaster is riding a nine-game winning streak and has opened a 3.5 game lead in the North over Southern Maryland... Gastonia maintains a seven-game lead over Kentucky in the South... If either SMD or GAS repeat, the wild card entry goes to the ALPB club with the best overall regular-season record.

First Half-Week Standouts: GAS's Jake Skole was 7-for-10 at Lexington in the midweek series... HP's Jerry Downs drove in seven runs vs. Kentucky while CWV's Edwin Espinal hit three homers at SMD... LI's Sam Travis had four hits vs. SI on 8/2... LEX's Montrell Marshall had three hits, three runs scored, two homers and four RBI vs. Gastonia 8/2... KY's Jimmy Paredes had four hits vs. HP on 8/2... SMD's Jack Sundberg had four hits vs. Charleston (8/3)... LI's Phil Caulfield had five hits at Staten Island 8/4 and collected 10 hits and three homers in three games vs. the FerryHawks... SI's Alfredo Reyes had four hits vs. LI on 8/4... GAS's Ezequiel Zabaleta fanned six in three innings without allowing a hit vs. LEX 8/4... KY's Elih Villanueva fanned 11 in seven innings vs. HP on 8/4.

Second Half-Week Standouts: SMD's Eddie Butler improved to 10-2 with a W over Long Island (8/6)... LEX's David Lebron struck out 10 in six innings vs. KY (8/6)... Charleston's Denson Hull fanned eight in five innings vs. YRK (8/7)... HP's Michael Russell had five hits and three doubles vs. GAS (8/7)... Russell was 10-for-17 vs. GAS over the weekend... LAN's Andretty Cordero had four hits, two doubles and three runs scored vs. SI (8/7)... KY's Chris Shaw drove in six runs vs. LEX (8/5) with three hits and two homers... SI's Hector Guance didn't allow a hit in a five-inning start at Lancaster 8/5.

Long At-Bats: CWV's Edwin Espinal fouled out after facing 11 pitches from YRK's Courtney Mack on 8/7.

Team Hitting: Nine LAN hitters had multiple hits vs. YRK 8/4 and 20 total hits... Eight LI hitters had multiple hits in a 21-hit attack vs. SI on 8/2... Three Honey Hunters (Darian Sandford, Reece Hampson, Luis Roman) each had four hits vs. LEX 8/2... CWV managed just three hits but beat York 5-4 in Game 2 of a DH on 8/7... HP hit six homers vs. GAS (8/7).

Team Pitching: Gastonia fanned 12 HP hitters and didn't issue a walk in Game 2 of a DH on 8/5 vs. High Point... Lexington pitchers fanned 18 Genomes (8/6)... KY pitchers held LEX to two hits on 8/7.

Batting Masters: York's Troy Stokes, Jr. went 3-for-3 with three RBI and three doubles after entering the game vs. CWV as a pinch-hitter (8/6)... He also scored from second on a stolen base and wild pitch combo.

Pitching Gems: Daryl Thompson became the first ALPB pitcher to get to 11 wins with a 13-1 victory over Long Island (8/7)... Thompson fanned nine a over eight innings in winning his 87th career game.

Records: LEX's Courtney Hawkins' 33 homers ranked as the eighth-most in a season in ALPB history... SMD's Ryan Haug has been HBP 25 times this year, tied for the third-most in league history... LAN's Nile Ball has hit 15 batters this year, tied for seventh-most in a season by an ALPB pitcher... SMD's Daryl Thompson is 11 strikeouts from his fourth 100-strikeout season, joining just three other ALPB pitchers with four 100-K years... York's Telvin Nash hit the 102nd home run of his ALPB career, the 11th-most in league history... Jim Fuller earned his 40th save with YRK making him the franchise leader... GAS' Darian Sandford is within eight stolen bases of the all-time league record of 290 set by Billy Hall of Somerset (2000-05)... Sandford is at 282 entering the week.

Highlighting the Obscure: After not hitting a home run in the first 78 games of the year, SMD's Braxton Lee hit three in four games between 7/30 and 8/3... Telvin Nash played 150+ games with York exclusively at first base or DH until playing left field (8/6) and getting an outfield assist.
