Rockford Thunder News Release

The first season for Texas Thunder was a big success due in part to the help and support from our outstanding group of volunteers. Your assistance was invaluable and we hope you know how much we really appreciated all you did for the team and the organization.

First and foremost we must thank the Marriott Residence Inn Downtown Houston; Paula Blackwell, Andrew Davis, J Foster, John Parker, and the staff for making their hotel a "HOME" to our players. Everything about your hotel is 5-Star, FIRST CLASS!

To the Stanaland Family...Wow! Where to begin? You all were amazing. You are such a wonderful family and as crazy as it was all season you still showed up smiling. JK, Jill, Justin & Jennifer...THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your hard work! We miss you guys.

Stephanie Strong we would have been lost without all of your help too. You are VERY talented and all of your pictures and design work were awesome. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Randi Cole, the best Athletic trainer in the league. You aren't officially a volunteer but you certainly didn't get rich working for us this summer. THANK YOU for taking care of the girls and the visiting teams. We couldn't have asked for a more qualified, caring Athletic Trainer. YOU'RE AWESOME!!!

Terry Lewis, "The Voice" of Texas Thunder. You were always there last minute when we needed you and then later became "The Voice." You did a great job with such enthusiasm. Thanks for adding a little zest to the games.

Derrick Mayfield...the hardest working guy at the University of Houston. Thanks for putting up with us and helping to make all the games run smoothly. Also U of H's police department did a great job taking care of us so THANKS to you guys also.

Damon & Candi Leonetti thanks for all of your support even during the difficult times. You showed a lot of CLASS.

Steve & Trish Brown thanks for your support and for all the HARD work. The fields looked great and the "Big Dawg" was a cool ride for the team.

Howard Ludlow thanks for supporting the team and giving these young women the opportunity to play this sport at the professional level.

The HBU Interns: Katelyn Griffin & Stacey Davison thanks for helping out wherever necessary. You both were very helpful and we wish you much success with your college softball career and hope one day you'll play as a professional.

Dr. & Pam Kiser, thanks for taking care of all the player's physicals at the last minute and for supporting the team.

Jonathan Lampl, your help at the start of the season was invaluable. You got us organized and over the big hump. We really do appreciate everything you did for us.

Arista & John Zacaek thanks for helping out wherever needed whether it was the ticket boot or concession stand and always having an AR*M*RK smileJ

Steve Ortiz, the original voice of Texas Thunder. Thanks for taking time away from your family and work to fit us into your busy schedule. We really appreciated your time.

Russell, the reliable back-up scorekeeper. It wasn't easy learning that stat program but you hung in there and really helped us out. THANK YOU!!!

Special Thanks to Paul D... who prefers to remain a silent super supporter but you know who you are. Your behind the scenes efforts and support were GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks to Danny Arnold and his group of trainers at PLEX for helping our athletes stay in good, healthy, physical condition

Leslie Vela thanks for keeping the girls looking sharp in their clean uniforms. Laundry must be easy now for you in the off-season.

Keith Harper thanks for all of your efforts.

Season ticket holders thanks for supporting the team.

To all the FAMILY MEMBERS of the owners, players, volunteers, and staff of Thunder that put up with our long hours and crazy schedule to make the season successful. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT.

To the many other volunteers that helped out from time to time we thank you too. Please come back next year.

And finally, THUNDER FANS, You're the best!!! We thank you and look forward to putting out another quality team in '05.
