Texas Tornado Host New Year's Eve Game and Celebration

FRISCO, TEXAS - (December 23, 2010) - The Texas Tornado hockey team in cooperation and partnership with Park Place Dealerships, have announced plans for their first annual New Year's Eve game and family celebration taking place on Friday, December 31st at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco.

The festivities begin at 6:30pm when the doors open for the game as the Tornado host the Wichita Falls Wildcats. Face-off is at 7:30pm, warm-ups begin at 7:00pm. The Tornado will be wearing specially designed New Year's Eve jerseys, which will be auctioned off on-line following the game at tornadohockey.com.

Tickets for the first annual New Year's game are on sale now and available by stopping by or calling the Tornado office at 972-335-9800 or online at www.tornadohockey.com. For only $24 fans can get the New Year's Eve special ticket package which includes a Fan Zone ticket, an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet and special Tornado party favors for all the festivities. Or, join the Park Place Dealerships VIP event in the Gold Club with the Tornado coaches, Siren Dancers and former Tornado players which will include a dinner buffet, party favors, champagne toast, special gift and a countdown to midnight, which will take place at 11pm local time (Midnight eastern).

During the game, there will be live music in the arena by Sylvanshine, as well as, an acoustic performance in the Gold Club. There will be kid-friendly inflatable games and other fun activities in the Ice Level Party Zone. Following the game, there will be a post-game skate with all the Tornado players. The post-game skate is free with a game ticket and skate rental is $3.00.

The Texas Tornado, proud members of the 27-team North American Hockey League, are back in 2010-11 for another season of exciting family entertainment at the state-of-the-art Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, which now offers more seating, more amenities and more great action featuring the players that are the future of hockey. Since their inception in 1999, the Texas Tornado has set the standard for excellence for hockey for players 21 and under in the United States. Besides their three straight National Championships from 2004-2006, the Tornado has won seven NAHL Regular Season Division titles and had seven straight 40+ win seasons from 1999-2007. Since 1999, the Tornado have developed and moved on over 110 players in nine years onto NHL, NCAA and professional teams.
