Texas Summer Leaguers Signed by United League Teams

Righthanded pitcher Nick Huff became the fourth Texas Summer League player to sign with a United League team when he joined the Fort Worth Cats on Wednesday.

Huff, 25, had pitched in 18 Pecos League games this season after appearing in 31 games the past two seasons for the University of Houston-Victoria.

As a junior at UH-Victoria he compiled a 3-1 record with four saves and a 2.05 ERA, with a 29-9 strikeouts-to-walks ratio and 24 hits allowed in 26 1/3 innings.

The 6-1, 195-pound native of Groveton, Texas had allowed just one hit and run and two walks while striking out four in three TSL innings this season. ---861880492-1040986482-1374700507=:37885
