Evansville BlueCats News Release
The Evansville Bluecats are pleased to announce their first ever NIFL Atlantic Conference all-star selection. Rookie offensive guard Terry Phillips was voted by head coaches, team executives and media members from around the league as one of the top offensive lineman in his conference.
The 6'7", 300 pound Phillips paved the way for an offense that set team records for scoring, first downs, passing yardage and total offense. Individual team records were also set for rushing yards (Michael Cosey 829 yards-4th in the NIFL), receiving yards (John Gordon, 720 yards) and touchdowns (Cosey, 27-7th in NIFL). Phillips was also an integral part of the dominating 88 point offensive explosion against the Show-Me Believers that saw six league records and ten team records fall.
The former LSU Tiger showed vast improvement throughout his rookie season according to head coach Ollie Guidry. "I'm excited for Terry to be recognized as one of the top offensive lineman in this league. His hard work and loyalty to this team proved to be significant and showed in his improved play throughout the season."
The Evansville Bluecats staff members are now busy preparing for a promising 2005 campaign. For 2005 season ticket information, call the Bluecats office at 812-491-9401 or log on to www.evansvillebluecats.com.
