(PORT HURON, MICH) - United Hockey League franchises Adirondack Frostbite and Danbury Trashers ceased operations for 2006-07, creating a second dispersal draft for the remaining teams.

As a result, the Port Huron Flags were able to select five more solid players. Pending contract discussions and league approval, the former Trashers or Frostbite members will wear red, white and black for the upcoming season.

In the first round, the Flags snatched up Sylvain Cloutier, center, from Adirondack. They followed with Danbury goalie Sylvain Daigle in the second round and then picked up Troy Smith, Danbury defensemen in the third.

In the fourth, left wing John Osborne from Danbury was chosen and the final draft acquisition came from Adirondack, in center Ryan Prentice.

Although a draft selection does not guarantee a spot on the roster, Flags administration is working to see who will be a permanent addition to the team.

The Port Huron Flags are a community owned, nonprofit member club of the United Hockey League. For more information on the 2006-07 season, contact the front office at (810) 982-3524 or visit the website at www.porthuronflags.net.
