January 16, 2024 - United States Hockey League (USHL) News Release

Team White claimed a 5-4 win over Team Blue, but it took overtime to do so at the 2024 Chipotle All-American Game played in Plymouth, Mich., Monday.

The event featured 45 of the top prospects in the United States Hockey League, all of whom are committed to NCAA Division I men's hockey programs.

Lucas Van Vliet (USA Hockey NTDP) scored on the power play at 6:23 of the opening period to put Team Blue up 1-0. James Hagens (USA Hockey NTDP) tied the game after taking a pass from Teddy Stiga (USA Hockey NTDP) and sliding the puck past Jack Parsons (USA Hockey NTDP). James Reeder (Dubuque Fighting Saints) scored on a deflection at 3:56 and at the end of the first, Team Blue held a 2-1 lead.

It became a 2-2 game 56 seconds into the middle frame when Team White defenseman EJ Emery (USA Hockey NTDP) joined the rush and banked a shot into the net.

Stiga scored after taking a feed from Christian Humphreys (USA Hockey NTDP) to give Team White its first lead of the game early in the third period and it became a 4-2 lead at 17:26 after an Austin Baker tally. Defenseman Finn McLaughlin (Youngstown Phantoms) made a nice move at the blue line to create some space for himself and then roofed the puck at 5:31 and at that point the score stood 4-3.

Cole Eiserman (USA Hockey NTDP) bounced the puck off a defenseman at 7:19 of the third to send the game into overtime.

John Mustard (Waterloo Black Hawks), the top-scoring rookie in the USHL, broke in on the left side after taking a pass from Baker and wired a shot past Thatcher Bernstein (Dubuque Fighting Saints) to end the game at 1:49 of the extra session.
