Team Website Turns New Leaf

(PORT HURON, MICH) - The Port Huron Flags organization has revamped its team website, creating a more exciting look and offering extended features to fans.
Shawn Brewer, web designer, believes the new look will encourage more people to access the site. "In this day and age, an organization needs a fully functional webpage to be taken seriously. Our old page was out-of-touch with the standards for web design, but the new site should make us fairly competitive with the other teams in the UHL," said Brewer.
The biggest renovation was the availability of team merchandise. The previous website did not have the option to buy Flags gear online. Lorraine Lixey, merchandise manager, played a role in the decision to add this feature.
"We believe that this will open up a new venue for convenient purchasing for our fans," said Lixey. "Interested shoppers can view merchandise on the site and buy items without making the trip to the office."
The new www.porthuronflags.net is more user-friendly and informative. Top headlines and the game schedule are available right on the home page. The majority of the content remains the same for fans who frequent the site, but with a more prestigious look and accessibility function.
