One of the most talented, respected and accomplished players in the game today is making a triumphant return, as forward Amanda Pelkey has re-signed to play for the NWHL's Boston Pride during the upcoming season. Pelkey, 25, won the gold medal at the Olympics with Team USA in February.

"I'm excited to get back to skating with this group of girls again with the Pride," said Pelkey, who played in all 5 games at the Olympics and had 2 assists. "We have a great group this year that I believe will build towards a successful season in the NWHL. Boston has been my second home for a few years and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to play here again this year."

This will be Pelkey's third season with the Pride. She played a major role in Boston winning the first-ever Isobel Cup in 2016 and was an NWHL All-Star in 2017. In 33 regular season games in the NWHL, she has 9 goals and 8 assists for 17 points.

With the U.S. National Team, the 25-year-old Vermont native has also won gold at the 2016 and 2017 IIHF World Championships, and helped the team claim titles at the Four Nations Cup in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

"Amanda is simply an amazing player in every aspect of the game," said Pride head coach Paul Mara, an assistant coach of Team USA. "She is strong in all zones and has an immense love for the game. She's one of the most liked and respected athletes I've had the pleasure to be around."

On the Pride, Pelkey will be joined by her U.S. Olympic teammate Haley Skarupa, along with 2017 first overall NWHL Draft selection Katie Burt and several of the best young players in the game.

At the University of Vermont, Pelkey completed her career as the program's all-time leader in goals (49), assists (56) and points (105).
