
Team Auburn Take Game One of the La Cup

Lewiston, ME (QMJHL) - In the first intrasquad matchup of MAINEiacs training camp, over 600 in attendance saw an entertaining see-saw battle as Team Auburn squeaked out a 11-9 victory over Team Lewiston.
Auburn took regulation play with a 9-8 victory, then outscored Lewiston 2-1 in the post half team shootout, to secure the win.
Team Auburn was powered by hat tricks by Pierre-Olivier Morin & Marc-Antoine Rousseau, and Matthew Bissonnette, Antoine Houde-Caron and Chris Caissy each posted markers for the white team. Team Lewiston was supported by four goals by Stefan Fournier. Lewiston native Connor Anthoine, along with Cole MacDonald, Jonah Coonishish-Coon and Soitris Anthanaspolous all potted goals for the blue team. The same two teams battle it out for bridge rights Friday evening at 7 PM at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee! Admission is by donation only at the door, with part of the proceeds to benefit the Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care program!
The only preseason game in Lewiston is this Saturday afternoon at 4 PM as the MAINEiacs face off against the division rival Victoriaville Tigres! Tickets are just $5, and FREE for season ticket holders and children 12 and under! The 2010-11 regular season begins September 10 & 11 as the MAINEiacs host former coach Clem Jodoin and the Rimouski Oceanic for a pair of games Friday and Saturday. With Rimouski and Lewiston projected to battle for the top of the TELUS East division, this is rivalry that should not be missed!
