Taurean Rhetta Joins The Bucs

LAKE CHARLES LA. - Louisiana Swashbucklers head coach Darnell Lee announces Taurean Rhetta has signed to join the Bucs for the 2011 season. Rhetta, a former player at Jacksonville State University (2004-2007) completed his collegiate career with 119 yards rushing on 19 attempts with two touchdowns. He completed three of eight with 71 yards passing. As a receiver Rhetta is credited with 91 catches for 1,586 yards and 12 TDs.

Rhetta is seventh all time at JSU in receiving yards and holds the school record for 32 games with a reception dating back to his first career start in 2005. He also holds the JSU and Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) record for career punt blocks with nine. Rhetta was also a kick return player on special teams.

"Rhetta represents what I am looking for in players for next season," Lee said. "He is talented on all aspects of the offense. The Swashbucklers are committed to winning a championship in 2011. Having Rhetta with us will help achieve our goal."
