
Tarpons Players, Coaches, and Team Ownership Gets CPR Certified

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Tarpons professional football team went through some new drills today.
Local Iona McGregor Fire Rescue members trained the team to be first responders. The team received certifications in CPR and learned how to use a defibrillator.
Tarpons Defensive End Larry Ford said there are many transferrable skills from football to saving lives.
"You can't hesitate, that's what life is about," Ford said.
Bill McGehee who founded Athletes for America and Tarpons General Manager were instrumental in helping the team become the first professional sports team to be trained as first responders.
On Friday night the Tarpons will make history when they step on he file as trained first responders. The team will also wear a badge of pride on their jerseys for Athletes for America.
Don't miss the home opener for the Florida Tarpons this Friday March 9th at Germain Arena. Tickets start at $7. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm, and the doors open at 6:30pm.
