Talons Top Week 2 Coaches Poll
April 14, 2010 - Arena Football League (AFL) News Release
TULSA - The Tulsa Talons climbed four spots in this week's Coaches Poll to take the top spot, the league office announced today. With 102 total points and five first place votes, the Talons knocked last week's No. 1, the Chicago Rush, down to No. 2.
The Talons most recently defeated the No. 6 Dallas Vigilantes, 63-59, in a high intensity game between two newfound rivals. Tulsa also topped this week's Fan Poll, and came in at No. 3 in the AFL Writers Association Poll.
The Rush fell to No. 2 despite pulling away with a thrilling 59-56 victory over the Cleveland Gladiators. The two AFL veteran teams traded scores all night before a field goal from Chicago K Chris Gould sealed the deal for the Rush. Chicago was awarded 95 points and five first place votes.
Rounding out the top five are Milwaukee, Bossier-Shreveport and Arizona. While Milwaukee and Arizona observed their first byes of the season last week, No. 4 Bossier-Shreveport showed the public they weren't a team to sleep on. They defeated the Orlando Predators, 73-67, in a heart stopping, offensively dominant game.
