The Danbury Whalers have announced that the game on Wednesday, February 29th (it is a leap year) has been switched to an 11:35 AM start. This game features the Danbury Whalers against the Brooklyn Aviators.

This game is billed as an Educational Day & Business Person's Special.

Schools of all levels will be invited to attend this game free of charge and can participate in the team's educational component of the event which includes English, Geography & History, Art & Math.

As part of the Educational Day leading up to the event, the Whalers players will be making appearances at the schools throughout the community and working with the students on these different educational elements. This includes essay writing on setting goals, chasing your dreams, and role models. There will also be a t-shirt design contest, a history component on Brooklyn and Danbury, and math as it relates to sports.

This will also be a chance to Take Your Office to Lunch. Members of the business community are invited to attend this game and make it the most unique lunch of the year.

The Danbury Whalers organization is offering the business community an opportunity to get involved with this day. Sponsorship packages are available for this event and start at $250 to send a class room to the game.

The package includes name and logo recognition on all distributed sponsorship material, recognition through the team channels, on ice recognition during the game, a booth on the concourse level, and a chance to distribute information to the fans attending the game.

In addition as part of the package, your staff will receive a complimentary block of tickets and you will get to take a team picture with your staff on the ice with the Whalers.

Motor City Hitter Coming to Danbury

Jason McCrimmon Signs with DWhalers

Today at the Danbury Ice Arena, Danbury Whalers Senior Partner, President, & CFO Alan Friedman announced that the Danbury Whalers have signed Forward/Defenseman Jason McCrimmon.

McCrimmon, a 5-year professional, has played in the IHL, CHL, EPHL, MAHL, & the AAHA. Most recently over the last two seasons, Jason was playing professionally in Finland.

Danbury Whalers fans will most likely remember Jason for his time with the Jersey Rockhoppers of the EPHL. There he teamed with Nick Niedert as part of the Rockhoppers championship squad.

Known as the "Motor City Hitter", McCrimmon weighs in at 6'4 240 pounds and is native of Detroit, Michigan.

In addition to his on ice work, Jason is also the Founder of Iceman Corporate Enterprises. This organization focuses on creating opportunity and participation in hockey for underprivileged children. ICE through Fresh Ice Youth Hockey Camps focuses on hockey training, building positive self-esteem, good fitness & eating habits, academic achievement.
