1) Some New Haven Ravens alums have been drawing notice in the Arizona Fall League. The league, which runs through Thanksgiving, features some of the top prospects in baseball. Jermaine Clark, who played second base on the Ravens' 2000 EL Championship team, is learning to play the outfield in the AFL. Now in the Texas farm system, he was recently featured on Top Prospect Alert's Arizona Fall League Report. Also drawing notice is righty Cheyenne Janke. Janke was a Double-A All-Star for the Ravens this season. He is 1-1 with a 4.74 for the Cardinals' Maryvale affiliate in the AFL and was also featured recently on Top Prospect Alert. You can access the articles about Clark and Janke through the Ravens' website, http://www.ravens.com, or by going to http://www.topprospectalert.com/AZFall/archives.html

2) The next round of improvements to historic Yale Field is underway, as the old batting cage behind the left field wall is being torn down. The cage will be replaced, courtesy of Yale, with a larger indoor facility that will be ready next season. The University has already put down a new layer of clay in the infield -- and its biggest project since the renovation of the field in 1993-94 still awaits. Preliminary work has been done to replace the roof, one of the stadium's most distinctive aspects. The roof covers all of the seating areas except for General Admission.

3) Now that the Ravens are affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays, fans should be keeping a close eye on Toronto's moves. While the Jays have not made any major free agent signings yet, they have made some that will improve their depth at the Minor League level. GM J.P. Ricciardi, who took over the Jays just one year ago, has made some significant moves this offseason in the Minor League free agent market, with close to a dozen players added. For more, check out SportsNet's story "No name signings part of Ricciardi's master plan" at http://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/story/10367968830250.shtml?sport=baseball&association=mlb&STORY_OID=10367968830250

4) The Ravens are looking for a group sales intern to start immediately. Check out the Ravens' job board on-line at http://www.ravens.com/contact/jobboard.htm for details.

5) The Ravens are seeking memorabilia, particularly photographs, from some of the New Haven area's previous pro teams (West Haven Yankees, West Haven Sailors, New Haven's Eastern League teams from 1916-1932, etc.). If you have any such items, please contact Sam Rubin at sam@ravens.com or (203) 782-1666 x.17.

6) The Ravens have also teamed up with News/Talk 960 WELI on Jerry Kristafer's Ninth Annual Caravan of Carriages. The Caravan takes place on November 24, with shopping carriages full of food being donated to the Connecticut Food Bank. You can drop off your donation of canned goods and other items at the Ravens' front office any time between now and then and receive a voucher for one free Reserved Seat for Opening Day.

7) The Ravens will host a tailgate prior to the Yale-Princeton Football game this Saturday, November 16. The tailgate starts at 10:00 am in the barbecue area – if it rains, we will go into the clubhouse. For only $30, you get the barbecue, soda, beer, game ticket and parking. Kickoff is at 12:30. To purchase your tickets, visit http://www.ravens.com or call (203) 782-1666.
