TODAY'S GAME - 9/15 at Round Rock

THE RAINIERS: Open up the final series of the regular season tonight in Round Rock...Tacoma won the series finale against El Paso on Sunday, 1-0, to secure the series victory...Nolan Kingham threw 5.0 innings of shutout baseball, earning the win...Connor Joe accounted for the lone run in the game with a solo home run in the fourth inning...Peyton Alford, Troy Watson and Nick Garcia combined to keep the Chihuahuas off the board for the final four innings to earn the win, marking the fourth consecutive season Tacoma has finished with a winning record at home, and the fifth time in the last six seasons.

ALL IT TAKES IS ONE: Tacoma's 1-0 victory on Sunday, the third 1-0 game the Rainiers has been a part of this season (2-1 record)...Sunday's game was the seventh Triple-A game this season to finish 1-0 with the lone run accounted for by a home run and the 10th Rainiers game since 2005 to end with a 1-0 score, with a home run being the only run scored, with Tacoma going 8-2 in those games...the shutout was Tacoma's fourth of the season and second of the year at Cheney Stadium.

RAINIERS AND ROUND ROCK: The Rainiers will make their lone trip to Round Rock this week to close out the regular season...Tacoma lost the first series against Round Rock from June 23-28, taking two of the six games...Patrick Wisdom leads all current Rainiers with 16 career home runs against Round Rock, tied for the most by an opposing player since 2005 (also: Chris Aguila), three of which came on June 27, the only three-homer game by a Rainiers hitter this season.

QUALITY STARTERS: RHP Gabe Mosser recorded his 10th quality start of the season Saturday, throwing 6.0 innings of three-run baseball...the quality start was the 36th of the season for Tacoma, the most in the minor leagues...Tacoma's 36 quality starts are 10 more than the next-closest Triple-A team (Lehigh Valley - 26), and 11 more than the next-closest PCL team (Sacramento - 25)...Tacoma's starting pitchers have logged the most innings in the minor leagues (680.0), and have induced the most ground ball double plays in the minor leagues as well, getting 68 on the season.

FULMER FEELING IT: Since the start of July, RHP Carson Fulmer has gone 5-1 with a 4.66 ERA, recording the second-most wins and innings pitched (65.2) in the PCL in that time...Fulmer also has the third-most strikeouts in the league since July 1, punching out 53...Fulmer has also thrown at least 100 pitches in each of his last two starts, one of just two PCL pitchers to throw 100 pitches in consecutive starts this season, joined by Rainiers LHP Jhonathan Díaz (September 5-11)...the last Rainiers pitcher to throw at least 100 pitches in three consecutive starts was LHP Aríel Miranda, who did it in four consecutive starts from May 8-23, 2018.

HURTS SO GOOD: Tacoma batters have been hit by a pitch 94 times this season, breaking Tacoma's single-season franchise record of 88, set in 2025...it's tied for the most in the PCL and the second-most in Triple-A, trailing Nashville's 100...Victor Labrada has been hit 16 times this season, tied for the second-most in a single season in franchise history with Doug Jennings (1989) and Brian Raabe (1997), trailing only Dillon Thomas' 18 in 2021 for the most in a single season in franchise history.

GARCIA'S GOT IT GOING: RHP Nick Garcia, tabbed Tacoma's Reliever of the Year on Saturday, threw 1.0 innings of scoreless to finish his third save of the season on Sunday, lowering his ERA to 2.67 (54.0 IP/16ER)...among PCL pitchers with at least 35 appearances this season, Garcia's 2.72 ERA is the best, ranking ninth with his 64K/23BB ratio...the 27-year-old has been even better at Cheney Stadium, sporting a 1.27 ERA in 21 outings at home this year, allowing just four earned runs in 28.1 innings, the best home ERA for a PCL pitcher (min. 20G), and the third-best in Triple-A...since June 24, Garcia has not given up a run in 22 of his last 25 appearances.

WORDS OF WISDOM: INF Patrick Wisdom hit a walk-off home run on September 8, his 33rd of the season with Tacoma, building on a career-high in affiliated baseball (Wisdom hit 35 last year with the Kia Tigers in the KBO)... Wisdom is the second Triple-A hitter since 2005 to tally three 30-homer campaigns, joining Mike Hessman, who hit 31 in 2007, 34 in 2008 and 35 in 2012...Wisdom is the fifth player in franchise history to hit 33 HR in a single season, here is how his stats stack up against the others:

WINNING WAYS: The Rainiers have won 16 of their last 21 games since August 21 and have 25 wins in their last 35 games since August 5...since August 5, Tacoma's 24 wins are the second-most in Triple-A...Tacoma owns a .658 winning percentage since August 1, which currently ranks as the club's best winning percentage after August 1 in a season since the 2008 Rainiers went 23-8 from August 1 through the end of the year, a .742 winning percentage.

LEO LIVES ON BASE: INF Leo Rivas extended his on-base streak to 26 games with a walk in the first inning on Sunday, tied for the longest on-base streak by a Rainiers player this season (also: Connor Joe, July 28-August 9)...Rivas has stretched his streak across three different stints with Tacoma (May 22-31, July 17-28 and August 27-c), reaching base at a .468 clip in that span, working 30 walks to 28 strikeouts...since September 1, Rivas ranks fourth in the league in on-base percentage at .491...among PCL players with at least 100 plate appearances this season, Rivas leads the league with a 23.3% walk rate (per FanGraphs).

HOMER HAPPY: The Rainiers hit another home run on Sunday, putting them at 192 on the season, the most in the PCL and the fourth-most in Triple-A...Tacoma has hit 15 more home runs than the next-closest PCL team (Albuquerque - 177) and if they finish with the most, would be the first time leading the league in home runs for a season since the 2015 season with 148 home runs, which led all Triple-A teams that season...2026 would mark the fourth time since 2005 that the Rainiers have paced the PCL in home runs (also: 2009 - 166 and 2010 - 185)...Tacoma's 192 home runs this season are the most in a single season since hitting 214 in 2023.

MARINERS UPDATE: The Mariners fell 6-4 to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night...J.P. Crawford and Cal Raleigh each homered in the loss, driving in all four of Seattle's runs on homers...Kade Anderson was charged with the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings.
