AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Swin Cash will join the Detroit Pistons on Monday, October 31 as they visit the Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit from 2 - 3 p.m. The 2005-06 Read To Achieve Tip Off event will feature Cash; the entire 2005-06 Pistons team; All-Star Readers; the Pistons dance team, Automotion; and Pistons mascot Hooper. More than 150 outpatient children and their families will be treated to an educational Halloween-themed event.

"Halloween was always such a fun time for me when I was younger," said Cash, "so to be able to bring some of that excitement to the children and their families at Children's Hospital is an honor for me."

The special Halloween-themed Read to Achieve program begins with a unique performance by Brainstormers, an award-winning professional improvisational group, featuring actors who produce inspirational and entertaining educational shows nationwide. Brainstormers will act out pre-selected stories that were written by the children prior to the event.

Following the performance, the children will attend one of three stations - Halloween Arts & Crafts, Pistons Arts & Crafts, or a Pistons Reading Time-out. Detroit Pistons players and All-Star Readers will help the children make their own Halloween masks and pumpkins, bookmarks, pennants and other fun items. Each child will receive a special Halloween trick-or-treat gift bag.
