LAST TIME OUT
MOOSIC, PA (August 23, 2026) - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders topped the Charlotte Knights 9-5 Sunday afternoon at PNC Field. A pair of home runs from Oswaldo Cabrera and one off the bat of Domínguez helped pace the offense.
Travis MacGregor stunned in his spot start working nine up, nine down to keep Charlotte off the board early.
The Baby Bombers struck in the home half of the third. Jasson Domínguez earned a walk and J.C. Escarra batted him home. Marco Luciano followed with an RBI single for a 2-0 score.
In the fourth, Kenedy Corona recorded a knock and Anthony Volpe walked to put two aboard. Domínguez smashed a three-run shot to right field for a 5-0 lead.
Charlotte started chipping away in the fifth when they plated a run on a hit from Jason Matthews. Oswaldo Cabrera had a solo shot in the bottom half to get the run right back.
The Knights cut the lead in half 6-3 with two more runs in the sixth. Again, SWB countered back with a double from Ernesto Martínez Jr. and an RBI single from Domínguez.
Charlotte grabbed the run in the seventh thanks to a run-scoring bunt groundout from Rikuu Nishida. It was Cabrera again who posted an updated score for the Baby Bombers in the home half. After Luciano walked to reach, Cabby sent his second home run of the game out of the park for a 9-4 advantage. The visitors would not go down quiet as Andy Weber roped a solo homer over the right field wall for the Knights' final run.
Luis Gil (W, 1-0) earned the win after an inning and two thirds of quiet work. Charlotte starter Shane Smith (L, 2-1) was charged with the loss after allowing five runs in four frames.
