(Lake Charles, La.) The Louisiana Swashbucklers announced today that former Auburn Linebacker Tray Blackmon has signed with the team for the 2012 season.

Blackmon is a native of LaGrange, Georgia, and well known there for being the 2005 AAA High School Player of the Year. He is credited for being a big reason LaGrange High School won the State championship that year as Blackmon compiled 116 tackles, 12 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles.

While playing football at Auburn, Blackmon redshirted in 2005. In 2006, he appeared in six games recording 18 tackles which earned him a spot on The Sporting News Freshman All-America Second Team. During the 2007 season for the Tigers, Blackmon's numbers were also solid, recording 41 tackles (25 solo). He added 21 tackles in the 2008 season, ending his college career with a total of 84 tackles.

In 2009, Blackmon played with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.

"During his football career, Tray has been a physical and hard hitting linebacker. He will be a big contributor, and we're very pleased to have him in the Bucs organization" said Chris Meaux, the teams President and General Manager.
