Swashbucklers face three game road trip that begins in the Wild

Louisiana Swashbucklers News Release

The Louisiana Swashbucklers are 7-0. They look to avoid a let down and upset on 3 days rest, traveling to Anchorage Alaska to play on Thursday night. The Bucs will play without a full practice between Thursday's meeting and last Saturday's win at home vs Frisco.

"We need the rest. The plane ride won't be much, but the Wild are taking care of us up there and we look forward to saving all of the contact for Thursday night. It will hurt us this week, but will give us extra time to prepare for San Angelo. Sometimes that feels like a longer trip by bus." Vice President Scott Blanchard explained. The team flew out today after noon and will arrive in Anchorage around eleven pm our time. They will play Thursday night and will fly home immediately afterward.

The Alaska Wild are 0-7 but lost last weeks game by a field goal as time expired. "They play very well at home, and are a better football team than the record indicates. Its only a matter of time, I hope that their time isn't this week." Coach Lee added.

The Swashbucklers defeated the Wild earlier this year at home 57-9 without their IFL leading quarterback and leader Freddie Harrison. This week Harrison will be in action but will be missing center Dwight Hudler. Major Griffin will move from tackle to center and defensive sack specialist Kendall Shello will move to Griffin's spot at tackle where he split time last year on the offensive side of the ball.

Notables also not in action this week in Anchorage is wide out Phillip O'Neal, defensive end Anthony Camp, and Swashbuckler captain Shadrick McAfee. All three missed last weeks game at home as well for various reasons. O'Neal and Camp are nursing minor injuries and McAfee has missed for personal obligations. With a win this week the Swashbucklers will have matched last years victory total and make Coach Darnell Lee the winningest coach in the franchise's short history.
